Poor Sarah was found in the aftermath of a very severe fire in Queens NY. This poor baby showed NO aggression during her rescue and examination. She is SUFFERING beyond belief !! This shelter has NO means of proper medical attention and she was given basics upon her discovery by a vet ~ but now she is in the shelter and in DESPERATE need of pain meds for her severe injuries. To make matters worse this shelter is FULL of adoptable pits with no problems and they get put to sleep daily - which means - this girl is DEFINITELY going to be killed unless rescued immediately.

Someone left her behind in a burning building.she was literally found in the rubble! Unbelievably she survived that horrific experience. PLEASE let's not leave her behind to die after she survived that tragedy.

California Bears Need Your Help Before March 13
Dear XXX,
The California Department of Fish and Game wants to expand the inhumane and unsporting hound hunting of black bears when these animals are already facing pressure from trophy hunting, poaching, and habitat loss. Take action now.
DFG proposes scrapping the state-wide, annual limit of 1,700 bears killed; initiating a new bear hunt in one county and expanding the hunt in two others, and expanding the area where bear hound training can occur. The bears need quick action, because comments are only accepted until March 13. Tell DFG to hold their fire.

This week hundreds of activists are in Washington, D.C. taking action to end mountaintop-removal coal mining. You can be part of the action by picking up the phone and calling your representatives tomorrow, March 9, for the national call-in day to end mountaintop removal.

Mountaintop-removal coal mining is one of the most outrageous environmental and social-justice transgressions in America today, threatening the biodiversity and human communities of Appalachia. More than 500 mountains, 1.5 million acres of forest, and 2,000 miles of stream have already been annihilated by this practice.

The deep pockets of Big Coal are working hard in Washington to block a bill called the Clean Water Protection Act that would undo the political loopholes that currently make it legal for coal corporations to blow up mountains and then dump the wastes directly into streams.

Please call your representatives tomorrow, March 9 and ask them to become cosponsors of the Clean Water Protection Act, H.R. 1310. If they're already a sponsor, ask that they actively work to promote this bill and to ban mountaintop removal.

Urgent! Shadow - this stunning 8-yr-old GSd/..Husky/..low-content wolfboy is even better looking in person!!
Good with men but warms up slowly; ok with kids [not toddlers as he's just big] but no small animals. VERY FRIENDLY with larger dogs. Walks well on leash, calm, gentle boy who loves to have his tummy rubbed! No livestock, cats, small dogs or small animals for this one He is housetrained and has no separation anxiety when left alone at home or in the car. He does not take food off the counters and is very respectful. At 8, he is in good health and can jog with you for a mile before getting tired. He likes den-like spaces, knows how to sit and stay, and very good about coming when you call him. With his thick coat he appreciates cool weather and is happy to just hang out with you



Shadow is very comfortable around horses. Shadow was slated to be euthanized last week due to lack of space at the shelter, but was transported to a very temporary Foster home and needs a permanent [or another Foster] home as soon as possible. He would be very happy in a home that takes him for hikes and give him lots of love and attention. His original owner couldn't keep him because he had no fencing. Shadow is a very sweet boy and we don't want him going back to the shelter. Shadow is in Mill Valley, CA. Time is of the essence!
