Update: Due to Alex's new lawyer, the trial date has been rescheduled to July 27th, 28th, and 29th. Utah activists were able to afford a retainer for the lawyer. However, they still need to raise $2700 more to afford a $10,000 cost of a trial.

Both BJ Viehl and Alex Hall, the "AETA 2", are activists being prosecuted with AETA, legislation pushed by the animal enterprise industry to label nonviolent civil disobedience as "terrorism". BJ & Alex are currently allegedly accused of a mink liberation and an attempted mink liberation. AETA deems saving the lives of animals and harming no life to be terrorism since special interests lost some money. Had Martin Luther King, Jr. been alive today, his nonviolent civil disobedience which caused substantial economic losses would have been deemed "terrorism". Compassion and non-violence is literally labeled as terrorism. What is this criteria to label it something with terrorism? Loss of money to special interests. That's all it is.
Having a good lawyer is the best weapon against the subjectivity and prejudices of juries (be it racial, sexist, or political). This is strongly a political trial.
They need $2700 to reach their goal. If everybody donates $1 or more, we can so easily reach this goal and support Alex to have a good lawyer during his trial.
